Hong Kong
- In August 2007, LZ LifeZtore joined the “Sunlight Renovation Project”, organised by the Society for Community Organisation (SoCo). The project helps the unemployed or underprivileged to rebuild their confidence through undertaking voluntary renovation work in older residential areas, such as Sham Shui Po and Shatin. It will last two years. LZ will donate 5% of clients’ purchases to assist SoCo’s administration costs and to encourage further social projects that help to improve employment and promote social responsibility.
- In September 2007, CASH organised mooncake donations from employees to support the Salvation Army and to share the festive atmosphere with people in need.
- To support the Salvation Army’s “Red Packet Donation Programme” and its work among children, we called for donations from employees at Chinese New Year 2007. The activity generated a great response and is set to continue in following years.
- CASH Group subsidiaries Pricerite and 3C Digital, together with Hong Kong Christian Service (HKCS) and The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), co-organised a community project entitled “Building
Power” from September 2005 to May 2006. In this project, we put our professional knowledge and skills to work to help people in need to renovate their living environment. Over 100 CASH Group volunteers divided into 18 teams took part. Districts covered included Sham Shui Po, Yau Tsim Mong, Kwun Tong, and Yuen Long. Benefits for low-income families ranged from renovation and house cleaning to donations of new furniture and household goods.
- In January 2001 and 2002, CASH and subsidiary Pricerite sponsored Helping Hand’s “Fortune Cookies Campaign”, which raised funds for the elderly. The campaign was held in Causeway Bay and received an enthusiastic response.
- In 2000, CFSG donated cash and prizes worth HK$1 million to the Community Chest in a charity show televised on TVB Jade. CASH on-line also purchased a batch of charity tickets from the Community Chest, which raised approximately HK$1 million for the organisation.
- From 1999 to 2000, CFSG funded The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd investment game for trading options and stocks, which encouraged different sectors to learn more about finance and investment.
